/lfg advanced
Overview
/lfg advanced
/lfg advanced is an extended version of /lfg quick
.
With the help of this command, an LFG party can be opened that is customizable in many aspects and offers more functionalities compared to the standard lfg command.
Command Parameters
During execution, /lfg advanced
only requires two parameters.
Input Name | Required |
---|---|
Game | true |
Game mode | false |
Due to limitations of Discord, an autocomplete can only take place at the moment the command is entered, which is why Game and Game Mode are the parameters that can no longer be adjusted afterward.
All other options can be adjusted at a later stage.
Channel configuration
During execution, Team Up creates a separate text channel to which only you have access as the lobby creator. Within this channel you have the possibility to customize the request before it is finally posted in the channel where you originally wanted to create it.
You have more options than in the /lfg quick
command.
Each time you click on a button, the display of the message changes. It is visually displayed which option is being edited and what effect it will have in the final LFG.
This is followed by a list of all options including a corresponding explanation.
Some options are identical for /lfg quick
and /lfg advanced
.
However, some options are also exclusive to /lfg advanced
.
Thread
Does your party need a thread to clarify more details before it starts? No problem! Simply select true
here and the bot will create a thread directly under the LFG post for exactly this other information.
The thread will be deleted when the LFG is completed
Role
This parameter allows you to select a specific role to be pinged when the LFG post is created.
Competitive
Sometimes people want to play casual games, others want to play competitive games and therefore play ranked games. This parameter is purely visual and adds a small piece of information that the party plays competitively and is not aimed at casual gamers who are just looking for fun and don't want to give 100%
Voice
Would you like to use a voice channel for your LFG when you play? Then activate this option.
The bot chooses from 2 different methods, depending on which case is given.
-
You are in a voice channel
In this case, the voice channel is linked directly in the LFG request to draw the user's attention to it. When the LFG request is completed, the bot processes the channel's permissions so that users who have joined the LFG have the permission to join aswell. Existing permissions are not changed for this channel.
-
You are not in a voice channel
In this case, the bot remembers that a voice channel is required on completion. As soon as the party is full or is started prematurely, the bot creates a voice channel in the party category (configurable with /settings). The bot will allow every user who is in the party to join via the channel's permissions and deny all others from joining.
Attention! The time at which the Start button is pressed counts! If you want to use your current channel, make sure that you are connected to it before you press Start.
Number of players
If required, you can enter the number of players needed for the party here. By default, the bot uses the number of players configured for the selected game mode (if none is selected, the default game mode is selected).
The value is only accepted once you have sent the modal with the Submit button
Description
In this field you can enter important details that do not fit anywhere else. It is a free text field limited to 200 characters.
The value is only accepted once you have sent the modal with the Submit button
Number of Teams
Do you want the bot to form teams from the participating players when completing the LFG request, e.g. because you want to compete against each other in 2 teams in a private match? Then say no more and select the number of teams here and Team Up will do the rest for you.
Preselected players
This feature is exclusive to /lfg advanced
. Here you can add people to your party before it has even started.
You can add as many players as there is room in the party - 1.
This means that if there are 4 places in the party, you can add 2 players, for example.
Then there are a total of 3 players in the party and one last slot remains free.
One slot is taken by you as the party creator.
It is pointless to create a party that is already full, so Team Up does not support this.
You can add any user to the party, just be sure that the user wants to be added. There is no further query here.
Allowed roles
This feature allows you to specify which Discord roles should be allowed to join the LFG. Add any role you want. When you click on the Join button, the system will check whether the user has one of the specified roles, otherwise they will not be able to join.
